Why did you study electrical engineering before moving into computer science? Did your interests change?
My interests did not change; this was the plan from the start. I was interested in computers, circuits, and hardware from an early age. By junior high school, I had decided to pursue computer science, and later enrolled in the Department of Computer Science Engineering at my high school.
Because I saw potential in integrating software and hardware, I deliberately built a foundation in circuits, hardware, and systems at university before going deeper into computer science in graduate school.
Why did you double major in finance and minor in business administration?
I was already planning a double major in high school. At university, I wanted to explore subjects beyond technology, so I began looking into management, finance, and intellectual property rights.
I ultimately chose finance and business administration based on my interests, how the courses fit together, and the time needed to complete them.
How were you able to graduate from university in three years?
I originally expected to complete my undergraduate studies in three and a half to four years. In my second year, I reviewed past course schedules and realized that rearranging my courses could allow me to fit my primary major, second major, and minor into three years.
Whenever possible, I scheduled classes on weekends, holidays, or in the evenings to leave weekday slots available for other courses. I took almost no time off during winter and summer breaks. Along the way, I dropped my computer science minor and took courses at AUIA International Summer School to transfer some credits.
After graduating early, I spent the year before graduate school working as an assistant at the newly established maker education and technology center at my former junior high school.
